The Problem: Ordering Platform and Management System

First Watch reached out to Switchbox to build a custom cross-platform mobile app that integrates with their online order platform Olo and their queue management and CRM service Wisely. They needed a solution for online ordering and restaurant reservations, as well as an easy to update application for menu and hour changes.

The Solution: Cross-Platform Mobile Application

Working with First Watch, the goal was to have the application to allow customers to place orders and reserve their spot in line during busy periods during the day. This solution also allows for easy web-based updates to location and menu information by business administrators, making for an easy platform to manage and update for their business administrators.

The Results: Easy to Use and Manage Application

Development costs were kept at a minimum by utilizing a combination of a Rails API and ReactJS front end compiled with Cordova allowing for simultaneous builds and updates for iOS and Android.

Since the initial release of the app, it has continued to evolve to suit the needs of the business and customers including the addition of curbside and contactless pickup to support the business as it moved to evolve during the early days of the pandemic, a more effective payment method allowing customers to split payment among multiple gift cards and credit cards, and enhanced WCAG accessibility.
