Company Role: Product Owner
What do you do at Switchbox?
I am a product owner on Switchbox’s product team and I get to do all sorts of fun things. I work directly with our clients to gather all the requirements of their project and then help plan those requirements with our development team. I get to be in every part of the project lifecycle, from the first meeting, to the first round of testing, to the live product. I also manage many of our maintenance projects, which allows me the ability to work with lots of different clients on smaller feature updates.
What is your favorite memory at Switchbox?
A few years ago, we took a company trip to Universal Studios in Orlando and it was such a blast. Joel and Megan made sure we had tickets to both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure so that we could ride the Hogwart’s Express. We stayed right at City Walk and everything was in walking distance.
What’s your favorite movie, TV show, or book?
Movie: Heathers
TV: The X-Files
What do you like to do when you aren’t at work?
I love jogging with my crazy Australian Shepherd mix, Bernie. Last year, we trained for and completed the Columbus 10k together. I enjoy coming up with new vegan recipes with whatever produce gets delivered in my weekly farm share. I’m also a total word nerd and love to play Scrabble.
What is your favorite thing about working at Switchbox?
My favorite thing about working at Switchbox are all of the brilliant, funny, genuine people that work here. I think it’s so cool that everything that we build here comes from someone that I know personally. I’ve been at Switchbox for over 7 years and I’m still working with many of the same great people that I did on day one.
