Cameron Mitchell Restaurants in a Columbus based company with over 40 restaurants across the country, and 19 different concepts in over 14 states and in the District of Columbia. Started in 1993, Cameron Mitchell Restaurants started at Cameron Mitchell’s mother’s dining room table, where it has since grown and become one of the top names in the restaurant industry over the last 29 years. Along with their specialty concepts, CMR also owns the Ocean Prime (OP) chain of restaurants, and its sister company Rusty Bucket Restaurant and Tavern (RBRT).
Cameron Mitchell Restaurants came to Switchbox, Inc. to update and revamp their gift card and e-commerce process for all Cameron Mitchell, Ocean Prime, and Rusty Bucket Restaurant and Tavern stores. Cameron Mitchell Restaurants sells over $15 million in gift cards alone each year, with that number continuously growing each year. The administration side of their system for managing work and sales traffic were insufficient and outdated.
The solution for CMR, OP, and RBRT was utilizing the .NET/MS Stack and using that to build a robust admin-side management tools, which included a sophisticated promotions management system. This allowed for a complex CMS system to be built to allow for CMR’s team to manage much of the websites updates and changes in the future. There was also an advanced car/checkout process and logic that were incorporated for shipping configurations for the various products.
There are still visions for future phases and projects that will provide even more helpful functionality, CMR has remarked on how much easier, quicker, and more efficient the tools have made the gift card transactions. It has been easy for the gift card department to train seasonal team members on how to use these new tools and features.
